Paper Description

Edit Paper Description Content

This paper teaches core conceptual understandings of Māori, Pacifc and Indigenous Health and Wellbeing. This paper will critically analyse health and wellbeing from a Māori and Indigenous perspective in relation to the impact of colonisation, and the social determinants of health on Māori and Indigenous peoples. There is an added element of exploring the whenua based health practices and their relationship to contemporary society. As a result, this paper will enable students to consider factors within society that influence the health and wellbeing of Māori and Indigenous peoples.
